Sounds like the oil pressure sending unit decided to die. Its located at the back of the intake manifold, it’s in a tight location. This is kind of a common problem.
Mine has the same issue. I replaced the senosr with a GM PartsDirect one and it lasted less than a day. Tried to get it warrantied, no-go, unless I agreed to a $80 diagnostic.

Typical answer from a service adviser. As a long time member of the C5 registry, I have seen this topic come up many times over the years. I do not know his definition of “common”, but I would have no problem using that term.
