It's called the "TracMem" and it basically makes the TC control button "sticky". The TracMem remembers the state of the TC button and resets the ECU to the proper mode whenever something else tries to change it.
This turns out to be trickier than it sounds... it involves listening to the vehicle communication bus and paying attention to TC system commands.
