Yep, it was a Bad Cat
Bad Monkey was right.....it was a bad cat.
Took Bill's advice (thanks Bill) and banged on the outside of the cat. Didn't hear much, but heard a little and that was enough to convince me to take the cats and X pipe off.
Took the X pipe and cats off. This is the second beer of a two beer job

This is what I saw when I looked inside.

I took it inside tonight and took more pictures.

That ring, whatever it is freely movable, and the entire inside (substrate?) of the catalytic converter is seperated from the housing. Shake it up and you can hear it moving/rattling within the housing.
Nick at KOOKS is going to take care of me, after I spoke with him today
I have no idea what caused this as the car was not running rich and had been tuned following the header install. I always expected that a "fried" cat would be pretty much reduced to mostly powder inside.

A short hiatus from the boards. Yes, awesome results. It just goes to show, cold air = horsepower, and that can't be denied. CONGRATS!!

I'm glad that thing is gone now.
