Default Help with spark plugs??

The last time I replaced spark plugs was on an iron motor. I'm new to the LS1 and I've heard a few horror stories. My car has a little over 50K on the clock and I believe it's almost time to change the plugs. I will admit I'm apprehensive. Anyone have some good, safe techniques?

Thanks in advance!

The right tools make a world of difference!

Get a spark plug socket with swivel all in one

Get a small handle (palm) ratchet with a handle that moves (swivels back & forth)

These two items will help make it a little eisier

Snap-On : double swivel sparkplug socket, 5/8 size.
$55.00 and worth every penny. It made the job ez.
Plug wire removal was more difficult. I broke several.
Definately apply antisieze on threads. And carefully snug plugs, do not overtighten. It's almost impossible to use a torque wrench on many of the plugs. Dielectric grease on both ends of wires.

If you have 2 good extensions and a knuckle, you'll have no problem. None of the plugs, NONE will give you a problem with the knuckle.

Good luck

Make sure the motor has cooled down. I haven't seen it on LS1 heads but I have seen the threads come right out with the plugs on other aluminum head motors when they are pulled hot.
