Bilsteins...sport or regular?
Is there a way to tell the difference externally between the sport and the normal bilstein's?Also,do they both have the shorter shaft installed?
I bought a used set and owner not sure which it is...
Most seem to go with the sport shocks..are those a lot stiffer...or I guess I need to know why they are more popular
TIA

Sports are stiffer and are tailored to a lowered vehicle. Bilstein does not recommend HDs on a lowered car.
I have no idea if you can tell externally
sorry.

OK, here is what I found out. There should be #'s stamped in the shock body.According to Bilstein's website, here is what gives..for anyone else whom may want to know.......
..............................Front..... ........................... Rear
HD's .....................BE5-2795 ............................BE5-2796
Sports ..................BE5-2797.............................BE5-2798
Hope this may help others out!!!

The Heavy Duty Bilstein shocks are FRONT: BE5-2975 and BE5-2976
The sports are FRONT: BE5-2977 and REAR: BE5-2978
It looks like the Bilstein website is wrong.
Hope this helps clarify.
Thanks!

Shocks
I heard somewhere that the sports are the same as Z51 factory shocks.
