I'm in the process of converting my 2002 A4 to an MN6 and need to also change out the rear diff (currently 3.15). The car is stock with only a GHL exhaust and a Haltech Stinger. It will not likely see any track time. BL - I want acceptable in-town performance, plus highway driving. Eventually may go the supercharged route, but that's a ways off. I'm thinking 3.73 or 3.90 and need your advice! Also need your pick on a diff vendor. Thanks.
You know I probably will get a flame gun turned on me but if I were not going to the track I would no even touch the rear end. But if I did for the street I would stick with 342's.
4:10's will give the best performance with your set up!!!
I would agree if it weren't that he is looking to go to a supercharger later on. I currently have a MN6 with 4.10 gears on my H/C car and they are awesome. IMO for supercharging, the 3.73 is most likely the way to go. As for a differential vendor, I would suggest DTE.

You are changing them anyway from the 3.15s. So if you upgrade that diff the cost should be the same for the 3.73, 3.90 or 4.10s. Personally, I would go 3.73s......
Thanks to all who provided feedback. I ended up ordering a DTE 3.90 with the hardened output shaft. The 3.73s are not available right now due to a manufacturing problem with DTEs supplier.
