Rushed to the track tonight with new heads, cam, built A4 listed below. Although DA was 1392 and I had old Nitto DR's thought I'd run great with the additional 40+ hp. Best run ( not DA adjusted) was 11.81 at 116.7. with a crappy 1.81 60'. Thought maybe they had forgotten to put then converter back in with new built trans.
Had to run again, must have been an error! Second run I realized that 1 to 2 shift was occuring at 6000 rpm and 2 to 3 shift at 6150. New trans shifts so fast all was out of sync. Motor makes max power at about 6600.
Based on prior shift point adjustments, I am hoping for a gain of at least .3+ with shift point revisions and a minimum 60' of 1.6 with MT Drag Radials going on tomorrow. I'm hoping with comparable DA to be at 11.3 something or better. Going to track again Friday numbers should be much better.
Got back to MTI for retune today. 1 to 2 shift point increased by 5 mph and 2 to 3 shift point increased by 6 mph. Also, low scale IAT turned off (or raised quite a bit) to make sure Houston heat wasn't also pulling timing (it probably was 80 outside when I last ran. I am expecting a real improvement at the track Wednesday night. I will post when I get back.
