Default Heads and Cam question

I ordered MTI heads and cam, and am having a mechanic friend install them. He usually works on mustangs and i was looking to see where i can find all the torque specs and info he would need for the bolts and general instructions, does anyone know where i can find and print them? also, is it ok to drive the car after installation? i would have to drive it about 200 miles for the tune and i dont know if i should trailer the vette there or drive it? is there a break in period? and should i use synthetic oil or regular oil if there is a break in period? thanks.

Arent you close by to one of those FL tuners? IMO I would use a vette specialist to work on your car. it may be more expensive but its worth it, trust me! If you were gonna trailer it anyway, might as well trailer it to a Vette tuner shop.

Checkout LS1Howto.com you should find all of the info you need. See how your car drives after the installation. If the cam you selected is not too big you can often drive your car with the stock tune for awhile until you can get a dyno tune. Or you can send your computer to MTI for a mail order tune. Which will not be as good as a dyno tune but you will be good to go until you can get a dyno tune at a later time of your choosing( will cost you 100.00 but better than trailering 200 mi). Or another alternative would be, you can call Kelly Chevy Performance Center in Hallendale Beach, ask for Angel he is a good tech he can dyno tune your car. Beware however that Kelly's prices are very high.

No break in period needed with a roller cam. Use synthetic oil.
