I had a Yank 3200 installed a few weeks ago. Since then the Vette has developed a vibration that starts at 3600 RPM and stops at about 4000 RPM's. It does this in all the gears I checked. Bad converter, bad install?
I had a Yank SS3600 installed 3 weeks ago and having the same problem except mine has a thumping noise at idle and a vibration at about 2200 and continues. I called yank and they said that the torque tube could be out of balance. From what I hear this is their normal response. They're not going to say that this is a problem with their product.
One thing you could do is check is the transmission fluid, Mine was a half a quart low.
Another....send you original tc off and have it rebuilt what stall you want. This will cost you about $200. I wish I would have known about this before I bought the yank.
I sent my original TC off and rebuilt to a tight 2800. It should be back in the car tomorrow. I will let you know if this takes care of the problem.....I bet it will!
Thanks for the info. The shop is going to pull it to see what is going on. After reading the supplied link I am a bit nervous about putting in a Torque Converter of any type.
I do have to say that my conversations with Yank have been very helpful and they even have talked to my shop to help resolve the issue.
