Default Fast 90/90 too much?

Is a fast 90 with a 90 LS2 TB too much for a cam only Z06? Cam will be a Futral F13 230"/232" .595"/.585" 112LSA. Will I be hurting myself more then helping?

Thanks
Bud

Fast 90 is a good idea - especially if you plan future mods. I have one with a Nick Williams 90 mm TB (239/251, 106). Good luck!

I got about 9 rwhp with the combo on a cam only car. I would wait until you did the heads. There are some tuning issues and idle issues.

adjustments to the Idle Airflow tables....very minor when tuned for the cam.

Definetely minor, all you have to do is log the STIT and LTIT PIDs on the tuning software and use that to adjust the Base Idle Airflow table.

90 mm TB and intake is really not worth the money on a 346, IMHO.

on a 2001 FBody with a M6 and G5X4 cam...
Fast 90/90 443/400
LS6 and Shaner S2 425/380

dynos done within a week of one another and no other changes were made except tuning for each intake. The FAST actually made 31 rwhp more in the mid range RPMs from about 3500-5000

You would think that as I think that as well, but Lou from LGmotorsports keeps shattering these records on stock 346cubes. He has even the LS2 engine with the GX4 cam and Fast 90 intake and LS2 TB and headers and was pushing out 460+ whp. He gained well over 60-70whp. I know the CAM helped the most, but he said the FAST also added an additional 20whp.

On the stock stock car, its not worth it, but on a car with a CAM and possible heads, you will definetely get a good kick in whp numbers.

Usually most guys do heads before or at the same time as the 90/90, so it may be hard to find many with that set-up and stock heads. I am doing that same combo with AFR 205's, LG headers and 90/90, will let you know when it's up and running.(with a tune, of course)

FULTILT - I'm considering the FAST 90 Intake with Nick Williams 90 TB too. Please keep us posted on your results (before and after dyno) since I have a similar setup. Thanks!

Exactly what "The Vette Doctors" told me. Car ran better with LS6 manifold and stock TB.

I gained 20hp with the Fast intake and NW TB on a 346ci. That was the only change.

I am running the FAST 90 NW TB on a cam only car (Stock 243 heads)...and it pulls like a freight train up top.

Good mod if you can tolerate some of the tuning issues (Any plenty of room to grown into).

A lot of myth and theory in this thread. 2 1/2 years ago they were saying the LS1/6s didn't like big cams...

gojo has real world facts...and he's an excellent tuner.

Many others have posted the same or similar info to gojo's. Maybe it's in the tuning ....I'm sure gojo has spent more time than the major tuners can profitably spend on tuning a customers car.
