Today, my 01 Z06 started running rough and then the Check Engine light started flashing. Limped my Vette home and plugged in my Diablo to pull the codes. I am only getting the P0300: Mulitple Misfire code. I did a search here and found a number of people recommending replacing the plugs and wires. Just happens that I have a set of wires that I haven't put on and picked up a set of plugs on my way back to my house. I am going to try installing these to see if that will solve it. My Vette has just over 30,000 miles on it. Anyone else have this problem? What did you need to do to fix it? I figure if the wires and plugs don't fix it, then I am taking it to the dealer first thing in the morning (have GMPP on my Vette). Any input would be great!! Thanks in advance!!!
2 factory wires fell apart when I took them off. Glad I had a set sitting in the garage. Also found "Denso" plugs were installed in my Vette. Yanked them out (#8 looks like it was the culprit, it was damp) and put in Delco plugs. I have no idea why there were Densos in there. My Vette just turned 30,000 miles. I bought the car last July with 13,900 miles. Wires were factory and was surprised that two of them came apart when I was taking them off the plugs.
At least the problem is fixed!! Last thing I needed was for this to happen on my trip to Walt Disney at the end of this week!!
Major relief!
I thought I might have a huge problem looking at the service manual. Then I did a search here on the forum. Couple people had the same problem and replaced wires and plugs. Well, since I had them in the garage, I spent 2 hours and replaced them. Man I love this place!!! Kept me from going to the dealer!!
