My keyfobs don't work. Either of them. I bought and installed brand new duracell batteries for them, and made absolutely sure it was the correct replacement. No dice. I hate using my key to open my door and remembering to lock it is somewhat of a pain as well. Could there possibly be something I am doing wrong or should I just go to the dealer and order a new keyfob?

You need to re-synch them. Put the key in the car and turn to ACC (not sure if this is required, but I always do it). Stand next to the car and press the lock and un-lock at the same time. Hold down for about 10 seconds. Horn will "toot" and you're good to go!

PS - you will need to do this for each fob.
ACC is backwards, right? I'm going to go try this now!
If that doesn't work, you need to retrain them. Turn the key on, don't start the car. Clear any messages with reset button. Scroll through options until screen is blank, hold reset button until it says "fob training", then hold both lock and unlock down for 10 seconds.
I feel retarded it still doesnt work. I get to the point where it says fob training, and hold down lock and unlock simultaneously, and NOTHING happens. If i hold them down for a period of time, nothing happens. Does the passive switch on the key fob have to be in any certain position?
you have to hit reset at that screen to enter the fob training. It'll then tell you to hold lock and unlock on fob #1 (obviously, do what it says) then it'll ask you the same for fob #2 and #3. When you run out of fobs just turn the ignition off and give it a try!
There are two different types of training for a fob. A "re-synch" is where you turn the key and hold the 2 buttons down, horn will toot. This is used for fobs that have already been used on the car, but just need some help after battery changes. The "re-training" (where you go into training mode in the DIC) is used to install NEW fobs that have never been used on the car.
For a battery change, you should not need to re-train, just re-synch.
DUH --- Where in the thread does he state he has tried the re-synch? He states he is going to try it and comes back saying he couldn't get the re-train to work.
PS - you should know that for a battery change you only need to re-synch, not re-train! You should also know the difference between an re-synch and a re-train! DUH!
He is trying to do a re-train ("I feel retarded it still doesnt work. I get to the point where it says fob training, and hold down lock and unlock simultaneously, and NOTHING happens"). NO NEED!
MIKE94ZLT1 - you just need to re-synch. You DON'T NEED to mess with the re-training throught the DIC!

retrain would fix it regardless and isn't all that hard or time consuming...hopefully he figured it out by now
Ok, can someone please send their 4 year old to do this for me? I CANNOT get this to work. Either way, with either fob. Both have BRAND new batteries, and they are installed properly. This is very aggravating I HATE using my key to get in and out of my car.
Edit: This is ridiculous. I am the most technical/mechanically inclined person I know. I do all of my own work on my car including heads, cam, transmission and rearend swap/conversions, I can program some of the most complicated Home Theater remotes in existence with extreme ease, I can install 4 different kinds of satellite systems, I can set up whole house audio systems in my sleep, I can design and build the Home Theater system of your dreams, I can network your whole home or office, doing everything from running the wires to encrypting it and setting up a firewall, I've built and loaded every computer I've ever had (except the first one) and have built many for friends, family and others, yet a simple piece of crap keyfob with FOUR BUTTONS has bested me repeatedly. I'm going to go bang my head against the wall for a few hours now.

I feel your pain. There could be something else going on if neither re-synching nor re-training works on either fob. Are there any stored codes on your DIC?
Are your tire pressure sensors working (I believe the receiver for the fobs is also the receiver for the pressure sensors)? Do you know someone with the same fobs so you could check your fobs on his car?
Hopefully there is a code for a problem that might send you in the right direction. Keep us posted!
PS - Do you have a set of service manuals? They can be helpful in this kind of thing.
