Ok, I have a y2k coupe with the active handling option. I tried to put it into competitive mode this weekend and it would only switch on/off, and yes I was fully stopped and pressing the button for more than 5 seconds. Is there any known issues with the system that would cause the problem? Are there any codes that could indicate a problem, and if so is it worth it to purchase a setup like LS-1edit or should I save my money for the repair?
Any suggestions on repair shops and/or tuners in the Denver area?
I've noticed switching over to Comp Mode is a little finicky on my 03 Z06 on (rare) occasion. Like I hold the button for 5+ secs and nothing happens, but it works on the 2nd time.
Might have something to do with the system warming up (like the DIC message people have seen on occasion that indicates just that!)
Anyway, to check for IPC codes, here's a link to how to access them, and a list of the codes. Not sure if any pertain specifically to AH, but there are general TC error codes, plus you might look for something involving a general ECU type fault.
It might also be something as simple as the switch itself.
The first thing I'd do - disconnect the batterty for about 5 minutes - see if maybe something has gotten a little buggy with one of the many computers, *maybe* it will reset? It certainly can't hurt!
The switch seems to be having problems. Took it apart to inspect, it was clean and no obvious problems. Put it back to gether and the first thing that it did was to go into competitive mode, without me pushing the button. Subsequently I have been able to engage competitive mode almost all the time by wiggling the button in differnet directions while holding it down. It takes different amounts of time each try. Guess I'l do this until it stops completely...
That's good! Heck, you can probably score a replacement switch pretty cheap - PM karshop here in the forums, he deals with used parts/salvage, could probably find you the switch.
Good luck!!

Mine has been doing the same exact thing. My switch felt a little funny lately and really sloppy, now i can buy the switch without wondering if it will cure it.
