Default what does this mean??

i was looking at my gm service report and i was wondering what this ment? 323266 # V1145 - 04006 - PERFORM REPROGRAM AND FUNCTIONAL TEST - MANUALS ON 61645 miles

does this mean that the column lock has been serviced and performed at some point? i just got Column Locked. and i am making sure my car has not been serviced for column lock, before i go buy a CLB. if it has been serviced the CLB will not work correct!!

I would say the 2004 reprogram is it. If you have a 6 speed, the recall fixed nothing so you could still use a CLB. If you have an automatic and are still getting column locks, then most likely your car did not have the recall done. Once you get the recall done on an automatic you won't need a CLB, as there will be no lock to bypass.

Default Stand-by on ordering the CLB

04006 is the Column Lock Recall. If you had your car serviced, the dealer automatically checks your VIN number and [usually] performs any recalls without asking you. Since the SCL recall was spearheaded by the NTSB, and or NHTSA, it's designated as a Federal Safety issue. The list also shows the ECL (Electronic Column Lock) harness was replaced 1/04/02. This is the harness that will prevent the by-pass kit from operating.

Sorry, wish I had better news.

pm sponge vette!! he will get it for you no problem!!

yeah this really bites. my car is at the dealership and will be there until wednesday . i was also talking to the wrecker as he was stealing my car , he told me that they pick up about 6-8 vettes a year for this same problem. he also stated that he has had only one repeat customer for this same problem!! the bad part is that i live in a city that only has a population of about 100k

thx frank
