Default 1998 C5 Idle speed

I have a 1998 Convertible Automatic C5. When the transmission is in park the car typically idles at 700 rpm. When in drive, it idles at around 600 rpm. This seems a little fast to me. When I let off the brake the car will roll just a little bitter faster than I think it should. Does anyone know what the idle speed should be set at in park? I have only owned this car about 2 weeks. I took it to a Ford dealer and they told me that they didn't have the proper tools to adjust the idle. What tool would I possible need? Ever idle I have ever adjusted only needed a flat tip screwdriver. Thanks.

Soounds like it is right in the ball park, no need to adjust. Yes, they will roll right along especially if you have the 2:73 gear set, and you may with your auto.

There is no mechanical idle adjustment. you would need to get some tuner software, or have the dealer do it.

If you need to adjust your idle than something else may be wrong.

Your numbers are very normal. I wouldn't touch it. If your a/c is functioning at the same time, the idle will be slightly higher.

Default Thanks for the info

I guess I am just not used to the rolling right along effect on the Corvette. It does have the 2:73 gear set and I am hoping to find a good 3:42 differential to help alter the station wagon take off effect. Thanks again.
