Default 402 head recommendation

I am looking at building a 402 and am interested in the AFR 225 heads. Anyone have any recommendations? I am interested to learn what sort of numbers these motors are putting down also.

Thanks

Are you talking bout the SLP 402? cause if you are id recomend there stage 3 ported ls6 heads........with them heads and a nice cam etc.... there making 575 n/a...........Afr's are the best but by only from a race car point of veiw. If your looking for near afr performance that wont break the bank then thats the way i'd go...accually thats the way i am going lol

The AFR 225 heads are the only way to go. I have no issues at all with my AFR 225 heads. Give Mikey at Rapid Motorsports a call at 610-404-7979. Any serious engine build he does he uses the AFR head. He has done alot of engines with the LS6 head and I am sure he will tell you that the AFR 225 gives better performance. 2400 dollars for the AFR 225 and no core is needed, you will have that or more in a set of LS6 heads getting them close to the performance of the AFR 225 heads. My car put down 527 rwhp and 465 rwtq (N/A) and has excellent street manners. I could very easily daily drive this car.

stage 3 ported ls6 heads cost about the same as afr's if not more and the AFR's would most likely out perform them. AFR 225's are the way to go. My 408 a4 w/ afr's get dynoedthis Friday. I had stage 3 heads before..... comparo on the way.
