Best gaskets for Breathless Step II Headers?
I recently noticed a loud piging/hissing sound coming from the drivers side area of the engine bay when I drive. I was told by an exhaust shop that it was a header leak at the gasket.
I tightened down the header bolts yesterday (about 3 semi-loose on each side), however, I could not reach the furthest bolt back on both sides. After starting the car back up, I still have the sound. I am wondering if I need to change the gaskets. If so, which do you recommend for aftermarket headers? I don't ever remove the headers, so one time use will be fine. I have seen/heard of the metal gaskets that compress when tightened..how about those?
Maybe the pinging sound is not the header and something else
