Default Service Active Handling

I have had the check engine light and the reduce power light come on with the service active handling I turn the car off and everything is back to normal. What is the common problem that causes this... PLEASE HELP!!!

Do into the manual diagnostics mode of the DIC and write down the codes listed. Ensure you parse them by module, PCM, TAC, IPC, etc.

Also, if you have any codes that are suffixed with a "C", you have a current issue. If all the codes are suffixed with an "H", then the condition has cleared and you may proceed with 'caution'. The 97 - 99 were / are notroius for problems with the TAC (Throttle Actuation Control module). No one will be able to help much until you pull the DTC codes from the DIC.

I know, it just happened to me yesterday. More diagnostics are needed for my issue, but I know there are some very experienced folks on this board who will offer a helping hand.

Now go pull those codes!
