I picked up a f**king screw in the tread of my front right tire. Tire is not losing pressure and I can see no reason that this would not be a candidate for a patch job. How does a runflat repair hold up? What abut under "spirited" driving conditions (not that I do a lot of that)? Any thoughts? Thanks.
You can't use the word "screw", as it is copyrited
Actually...I had one of my rf's fixed twice. 1st time it had a big ol sheet metal "threaded device" stuck in it. Since they only had about 5000 miles, we pulled it off and hot patched from inside. The next time...I thought I would be replacing them soon so we just plugged it. Due to circumstances...it was on there about 10-15K miles....with no problem.......and some spirited driving.

I've patched a few. My pass. front has 2 patches now, all is fine.
If it is patched you won't have to worry. Each time a Goodyear runflat is patched, you will lose one level in speed rating - so if you patched a "Y" rated tire (186MPH) it would become a "W" rated tire (168MPH) which is plenty of speed. If it was patched a 2nd time, like mine was, it would become a "V" rated tire (149MPH). Goodyear says you can patch a runflat at most twice, if you need to patch it a 3rd time, Goodyear deems the tire compromised and will not patch it.

Got a punctured right rear tire last spring on the way to a driving event at MidOhio. Stopped 5 times before I found a shop that would patch it.
Once repaired, I drove on to Ohio where I fully flogged the car. Speeds of 130+ for sure (I hit 140's this year) then drove the car home and for another 2 or 3,000 miles before replacing the set.
