HELP!!! My when I turn on my headlights at night time, the odometer cluster does not light up. The ac panel, and radio are fine. The dimmer switch is up all teh way b4 the click of course. Everything else on the odometer lights up, ie-mph sign, parking brake sign, etc, but there is no backlight. Does anyone know what the problem could be?? I read in another thread it could be the multiswitch?? Is that possible? Hmm please help. THANK YOU!
I had this exact thing on my '01 Z06 two years ago. The dealer had to overnight the I/P to another company for repair. That company (sorry I dont know their name) ended up replacing the I/P, overnighted it back, and I was back on the road.
sorry, but what does DIC mean?? dash insrument cluster??? and what does IPC mean???
DIC means: Driver Information Center. IPC means: Instrument Panel Cluster.
BTW, I have this problem occaisionally when I am programming my PCM. Occaissionally after I program it the IPC is dead, or just sits there. They way I used to 'fix' it was to disconect the battery for 30 secs. This causes the computers in thre car to 'reboot' and re-establish communication. It might be worth a try.
