Default Decarbing problem!!

Tried to decarb my 97 and I pulled the PCV line and started the car and it would not idle normal and when I stepped on the gas it would throw my RPM's into the 3's . Is this normal for the decarb procedure? I followed the tech tips and I thought there would not be much to it. What should I do or what am I missing from the tech tip.
TIA for the replies.

Don't worry if it idle's differently, shouldn't hurt anything. Make sure to let the thing sit over night before starting it back up (I've found that to clear up far more carbon than letting it sit for just a few minutes or hours). I would also recommend using Sea Foam, it works GREAT (get at least 3/4 of the can in before you kill the engine).

Well, I poured it in and it started to SMOKE . I can't wait to see what it'll look like in the morning. This is a great site and it especially beats going to the dealer.

I put two cans of seafoam and waited about 6 hours, Made a big difference. Dont worry about the crazy idle eaither. Just make sure keep keep your rpms kinda high to blow that stuff out of there

Remember that the pcv line is a pretty strong vacuum so when you disconnect this line you are creating a big vacuum leak. Its normal for the rpm's to rise when its disconnected. It's actually a good thing since it prevents the engine from stalling when adding the additives. I used seafoam in my 98 last year, 2 cans added 1/2 can at a time letting the car sit overnight each time. I went from 6 degrees of kr at 5500 rpms to 0 degrees after the treatment. I recommend decarbing every oil change to make sure the chambers stay nice and clean.
