Decarbing problem!!

Decarbing problem!!
Tried to decarb my 97 and I pulled the PCV line and started the car and it would not idle normal and when I stepped on the gas it would throw my RPM's into the 3's 
. Is this normal for the decarb procedure? I followed the tech tips and I thought there would not be much to it. What should I do or what am I missing from the tech tip.

Don't worry if it idle's differently, shouldn't hurt anything. Make sure to let the thing sit over night before starting it back up (I've found that to clear up far more carbon than letting it sit for just a few minutes or hours). I would also recommend using Sea Foam, it works GREAT (get at least 3/4 of the can in before you kill the engine).
