I purchased a 1998 c-5 a couple of months ago, it did not have a passive key so I purcased one. I can program it where everything locks and unlocks but, it only does it one time. Could anyone please tell me what is happening. thanks

Just a guess, but since the system never uses the same code twice in a row(to prevent record and playback theft) the two are not staying in sync. Ask the dealer to check the fob they sold you for correct operation.
I've purchased a '99 4 weeks ago and have the same problem. After I re-sync the transmitter and receiver, it works a couple of times right away but then it stops. If I go out of range once, it stops. I've also reprogrammed the FOB, but it still only works once or twice right away then stops. I have already replaced the receiver but that did not cure the problem. I am going to pick up a new FOB and see if that is the problem (yes, I did replace the battery twice on the old one-it didn't help). I'll post to this thread whatever happens.
Thanks,
Got the new FOB, re-synched, re-programmed it a week ago. All has been well. End of problem. Looks like I did the receiver replacement for nothing, at least it was a used receiver that didn't cost much.
