Using the Hypertech Programmer, what is the best setting for the Rev Limiter?
I have a 6-speed with 3.42 rear end.

Where are your shift points? I'm assuming its an automatic..2.73 or 3.15 axle?. My shift points are at 6240 from 1-2 and 6230 from 2-3rd gear my rev limiter is set at 6300. I have found this works best with my set up. You can go more aggressive with the hyper tech programmer (6600 rpm max). To me its not worth tearing up my stock valvetrain, especially after the motor has peaked out its horsepower earlier in the rpm range. do yourself a favor and have 3 dyno pulls done. $45-$90. See where your maximum horsepower is on the graph printout and go from there.

The hypertech for my 03 set the shift points using + or - mph. I set the rev limiter at 6600 but I shifted around 6200-6300. I had a 3.15 rear end and use +2 and +2. I came up with my shift points using the hypertech manual's suggestion for a test and tune.
Without changing valve springs wouldnt go higher than 6300. I hit my limiter manually shifting my auto in both 1st and second, the damn tach lags more than I anticipated, thought I was shifting at 6000 or 6100 at most. I was wrong...
