starting/battery question

starting/battery question

Hey all!!! Its been awhile since I've been at this forum. Anyway I thought I'd post my question before I went out and poked around. My 97 will just click once when trying to start it, then if you go and shake/move the battery(the + wire actually) everything will go back on and the car will start fine. Its been doing this for a while and is getting worse. Everything shuts down. The radio, running lights, etc.. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

How old is the battery?

Are the terminals loose?

Clean the terminals, they are probably dirty. Check the ground wires just incase.

Its actually the negitave wire not the positive. The battery is an optima about maybe two years old. Doubt its the battery. Terminals are fine. It had a alpine installed years ago and I think it may be related.

ok so maybe one or both of the terminals were a little loose. Thanks for the replies! Have a good one corvette forumers.

I have an aftermarket stereo system as well. I remember that one of the wires were loose and my voltage was jumping all around, turned out to be a loose connection. CheerS!!
