I am about to change the oil pump. I figure I might as well change the cam. So to all the tech heads What cam would you say would be the best for a 04 C5 6spd, 7k miles, with stock heads I have Vararam, Corsa cat back w/ x pipe and Vinci handheld. I love the big cam sound. Springs, rockers and retainers might be o.k also.

Well, how big do you want to go??? Are you concerned with passing smog? Almost any cam change will require a spring change. Since you're almost all the way there, why not do heads at the same time? Are you going to Miramar on Sunday for a bit of trap shooting. If so, I have a great deal for you.

What are your plans for your car? Do you want a mild street cam or a much more radical cam for racing?

Well since your from Cali I would say don't do it you will never pass emissions. If you do decide to go for it, I can't begin to tell you how much fun my setup is See sig. for details. Be prepared for doing a clutch next if you do it.

Since you live in California and have a similar setup to mine you may want to use the same size cam I went with to pass emissions. I also have to do the dyno emissions test - 15 mph and 25 mph pull in my county (Fairfax) in Virginia. This cam works great with stock heads and is easy on the valvetrain. Good luck! Its an awesome cam that really pulls!
