converter suggestions
I have a 2000 a4 coupe with long tube headers and a z06 intake manifold 224x224x581+4 114 lsa cam 3:15 gears . my tuner suggests a 2400 stall converter I'm thinking of a Vigilante 2800 converter . the car is driven 99% or the time on the street . the problem is with 900 rpm idle the stock converter is loading up when I site at a light . so it is a drivability issue more then a performance issue but that's a + . so what do all the experts think I'm am not planning to changing the gear so don't tell me that should be done . not in the budget and with plans of getting a c6 z06 a few years down the road the mods need to stop here ........ lets here your ideas

Yep, check the sig. Now that I think about it the local who tuned mine raised it a bit to 725-750 for some stupid reason. Of course, he did a lot of other things for some stupid reason as well but that's another story
With the present cam, I already had the SY3500 converter. I had the 218/218 563/563 114+4 with the stock converter for a while with the stock idle speed. Idle speed was only upped to 725-750 after the change to the 224,when it was tuned...and it was unnecessary.

my tuner raised it up to 900 I said thats to high he said it will dye out if any lower ??. need to let my mechanic to drive it and see what he thinks .
If you intend to keep your 3.15 gears go with the Yank SS3200. You will get a good combination of performance and driveability.
The Vig2800 actually stalls at 3200, and a 2400 does not have enough stall to take full advantage of your cam.
You can't go wrong with a yank converter, they have great street manner with no lag and really do their job at the track when needed. Call Yank converters and they will match up your setup. I have the Pro Yank 3400 E-extreme series and I love it with no issues. Just my .02 worth. O'Neal
Since you don't want the car to load at a stop as much I would go with a SS3600 from Yank. My car was at 900 and I went down to 800 on the idle with no problems. Now it doesn't pull as bad and my cam is a 233-239/600-603 on a 114+2. I think before you get a converter you should have your car tuned by some else.
