fixed static problem in my cd changer
2000 C5 12 disc. Would not play burnt cd's since new. Car has over 100K on it now. I was doing the spring cleaning thing and found some old 650mb/74min cds. Tried one out of boredom. Used the same burner/program that I have never had any luck with on 700mb/80min cds. No static, no problems, even burnt it at max speed

700mb disks are a non-standard. 650 is the standard. I have found when using 700mb disks, that they work in some CD player and not in others.
I have since switched over to 650mb disks, they seem to work on many more players.

P.S. My 04 vert plays both 650 and 700's, but my home CD player only plays 650's.

I finally gave up and put an MP3 player in place of the CD changer. 
There are two options for MP3 connections going through the cd changer wiring, an aux-10 harness, and an adapter for the I-Pod which allows full control from the head unit.
