Air conditioning problems HELP

I have a 98 convertible with duel climate control. When I set the temp to say 65 and press the A/C button the lite will flash for 5 or 6 times then go out. I looked in the manuel and it said the lite will flash when A/C operation is not allowed. The car also has the outside temp. displayed and the temp displayed is 34 degrees F. It is not showing the actual outside temp. Will this prevent the A/C from working? The interior temp is much hotter than 34F. Any advice?

I think it will. You might try to find the outside temperature sensor and unplug it. The system will then use a default value which is high enough to allow the system to function.

thanks for the reply. Where would I find the sensor for external temps? and how would I discon. it?

in the rad/cond air intake area on the pass. side near the bottom, prolly have to remove the plastic finish pnl to gain acces to plug
