HELP! This has been happening for a while
Right hand door is acting weird. I can be driving down the road and all of a sudden the dash lights up the the fourth of July and I get the messages "Reduced Engine Power", "Service Traction Control", "CHeck Gauges", Low Fuel", and a bunch more. This has happened probably 50+ times over the past 18-24 months.
The car never loses power or seems mechanically different...it's just the electronics. No power windows, no oil temp/pressure/coolant temp etc readings. When it's like this I put the DIC into diagnostic mode and for every major electronic system I get "NO COMM". After while it works itself out and power and gauges come back but sometimes it takes forever and can be at the worst time like having to pay a toll or put the window up when it starts to rain.
The reason I say it's the right door is that tinkering around when it happens I have isolated it to the right door....when I wiggle the rubber accordian piece between the door and body that the right door wiring passes through the door will respond and let me work the window and lock. Sometimes it's a royal PIA to get it to respond to messing with the wiring, and sometimes just slamming the door stops or starts the frustration.
Also when this happens the key fob loses its program and I have to reprogram. And another thing that happens is that when it's in this state and I lock or unlock the car say 5 times, when it stops the car will spontaneously lock/unlock like it received the commands but was storing them until the electronics worked themselves out.
I've replaced the right door control module and inspected the wiring as far as I can see it into the body. I've also check the body ground points which I've heard can get corroded and cause this type of screwey behavior, but they looked excellent.
Can anyone please help me out here...it's seriously to the point where it's not even enjoyable to have the car because I just can't count on it working when I need it.

Good Luck!
The passenger door has a harness that goes into it (through the big black grommet by the top door hinge) and the plug at the end of that harness corrodes and causes this issue. I believe you can pull that grommet off (or out some) with the door open and get to the connector. Clean it out however you can and it should be good-to-go. Sorry to be vague, but I didn't actually take care of mine myself, so not sure how my shop cleaned up the contacts.Good luck with it.

I replaced the stock battery with an Optima Red Top about a year ago but that doesn't mean it didn't happen before that.
THX!
