Default Help Needed - Leaking Fluids!

Hey all,
On the way home from a long spirited night of driving in my vette (notably one missed shift where I hit 2 instead of 4, but I pressed the clutch back in before the car was able to over-rev), I noticed white smoke coming into the car through the open targa top...I immediately pulled over to find that clear-greenish fluid was leaking pretty quickly out of the very rear of the car on only the right side (the smoke was the fluid burning off the hot exhaust pipes)...I had no choice but to drive the car the 25 miles home because otherwise I would have been stranded all night in the middle of nowhere, and it drove fine...The transmission shifted as normal, power was going through the differential, and didn't see any weird noises...I recently had my rear end and transmission rebuild after blowing both at the track if that makes any difference at all...I assume not to drive it any more from here on out since all of the fluid will be drained by the time I get back out to it again...Any advice you guys can offer me is greatly appreciated since I am having a really hard time pin pointing exactly what is wrong with my car

Sounds like you over revved the engine. The tach probably didn't show it fast enough but if you let the clutch out in 2nd when it was supposed to be 4th, I'm sure you broke something. It might be as simple as a blown head gasket. Check your coolant level. Although I'm confused because GM uses Dexcool which is not green, but it's possible you have something else in yours. Good luck

Well thats what I thought at first since it was greenish..but the fluid is definitely coming from the rear of the car, not the front, and the engine runs exactly as it did before I noticed the dripping

This fluid is coming from the diff? or is it coming out the exhaust? I am sure that you will be able to get more help if let us know where you suspect that the fluid is coming from. I must admit though that the color is the most puzzling thing about it as transmission fluid would have been more of a red color and the diff I would think should be black. Dex cool is red also. Maybe it is the rearend and you have a different type of oil in it?
