OK i am getting codes P0113 and P1111, high voltage from the IAT sensor. After searching the forum all i got as the cause was a bad sensor or bad connector. I have since bought 3 different sensors and taken the plug apart to fix the tabs. Nothing has worked.
I erase the code but after some driving, ~10min, it comes back.
Any other suggestions as to the cause or a possible fix?
Same symptoms on my car. Have replaced sensor and car still throws both of those codes. They appear at stop sign or stop light while sitting in traffic...
For a 1999, you can detailed diagnostic info here.
First, you can only get this code at low MPH and low air flow. You need to check the resistance and voltage at the sensor. On the page above, there are some instructions for performing some tests by simply jumping a couple of the terminals on the connector to ensure proper operation. You may also have to disconnect the harness at the PCM and test for an open circuit/short.
Had the same problem, turned out to be one of the wires was broken, in my case inside the connector. I removed the rubber sealing at the end of the connector and solved the wire together. That eliminated the prob. How I found out that it was the wire? Well, I measured the voltage over the connector and noticed that it dropped from 5V to 0V when moving the wires.... Best of luck!!
