Default LS2 vs LS6

Replacing the engine in my C5 for the old LS1 had a slight oil ventilation problem.

I'm debating on which route to go. I have the funds for a crate motor and wanted to get some feedback on what people here have experienced.

Should I go LS6 or LS2 ???

I've seen the numbers as far as differences between the engines. Is there anything else?

What is planned in addition to the motor is cam/head along with my mods from the old motor (ported TB, headers, intake, exhaust). As far as I know the one of the major differences between the motors is the diamater of the intake where the LS6 is 85 and the LS2 is 90mm.
I do know that the knock sensors for the LS2 need to be relocated for the conversion.

Please correct me if my information is wrong. Any bad problems with the LS2?

Thanks in advance

I would think the potential for the LS2 would be MUCH higher, given the added displacement.

I did the ls6 of course i did not have the ls2 at the time. all i can say is the ls6 dose not take much to make it run in the c5. where the ls2 will take some work to make it run in the c5. You can still make lots of hp with the ls6. Just my 2 cents!

On the other F body forum this is a popular topic. A LS2 based 402 stroker SB can be had for <$4k so for $7k you should be living large with >475 RWHP. May need a beefy clutch though.
My next move when I can convince myself of the necessity.

I went with an SLP LS2 stroked 402 motor. Getting some custom head and cam work from Dragon Race Engineering. Should be a monster of a car
