trying to pick from yank ss3600 or a tci 3500 with billet front cover and angled fins....don't really know what all that means but the guy from tci said its lighter and would give 3 or 4 more mph at the end of the 1/4 over the regular 3500...yank is just a ss3600 dont know what to do the guys on ls1tech seem to prefer the tci saying they are more efficent...the price for a 3500tci is 575$ the upgraded one is $$730$$...tci stats a 8/10th gain in there test car over stock!!!!do i belive it???
i will be running 3.42 gears and a blackwing and no cats programing from vettedoctors any ideas on 1/4 times with this setup
thanks
I would go with the yank. I have had two converters from them with no problems. The SS3600 is a very good converter. I don't think that the TCI is lighter than the Yank. Times with street tires in the low 12's. But depends on where you live.
I have the Yank SS3600. Great unit, no problems. This unit as per the Yank site, uses the lightweight billet cover. SUPER STOCK 3600
245mm very high stall torque ratio. 3600 stall, 2.50 STR
Lightweight billet cover
$775

I see the same thing.I was going to save for a yank until i read all of the post regarding tci on the f body forums, plus i got a 3200 tci for a steal.Ill let you know what i think next week!!!
they are selling me a 3500 with no billet for 525$ and no angeled fins....bla bla bla.....do i need all this stuff with a stock car...do u really pick up 4 mph with the lighter billet cover??
You will feel so much extra power with a high stall anyway, unless you are a bracket racer and want every last .01 out of it,then i dont see it totally nessessary. But it is unsprung weight so it will make a bigger difference than you would expect.
Tci, they have been around forever.I looked at both and I tend to back away from someone whose website is more bashing the competition than facts. Plus about a year and a half ago there were plenty of complaints about Yank. I think I would take a Vigilante over Yank also.
After running Pro Torque 2400 AND 2800 T/C and then uograding to the YANK SS3800 and then finally the YANK Pro Thruster4000, all I can say is Get the YANK!!
....YANK SS3600-3800 will work for you and Mike Senia is a dream to deal with 'nuff said ..see my vids link below for proof positive
