I have pulled the pump on a LS1 Firebird, and it requires pulling the pulley first to get to the bolts.(Until you change it to the Turn One pulley) I took a look at my Corvette and the pulley looks the same, but it is directly behind the ABS unit and you can't get the puller on the shaft. Can you get the C5 pump out without pulling the drive pulley? Do you have to move the ABS or does GM have a special tool for the C5?

U can pull power steering pump without taking off crank pulley.
The whole thing comes out at once, sort of a pain because you have to remove so much stuff. www.ls1howto.com and check heads/cam swap, there is a section on removing the pump.
You can get a wrench on the bolt behind the PS pulley and get it off without having to take the PS pulley off. It is kind of a pain but it is doable. I have done it twice.

I agree with Jackal. If I remember correctly it is a 15mm bolt.
