Could someone explain how to properly fill a C5 radiator from being completely empty?
Do you just fill it through the reservoir then crank the car and keep filling till it stops taking? IM worried about running the water pump dry for that long.

Don't worry. Just fill her up and crank her up. Your pump is much lower in the system and will have plenty enough coolant to get things rolling. If it makes you feel any better, you can give the upper and lower hoses a couple of good quick squeezes before start-up to see if you can "burp" any trapped air. I run the engine for a few minutes and monitor everything (fluid level, temp, leaks, etc) just to make sure everything looks good, add fluid as needed and put the cap back on.
No worries.
