Boy I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions on this one, but if you like the stink of running w/o cats go this way!
IMHO I ordered the Kooks with the 3" hiflow converters and full 3" exhaust back to the mufflers and I'm very happy with the results.
Your loss with adding the converters is neglegable and the benifits will far outweigh the gain of less then 10 hp.

I went catless at first when I installed my LG headers. After a couple of months I coudn't take the smell any more. Now my vette has cats and it is much more enjoyable to drive. But FI cars aren't too cat friendly, so I've heard.

Go with cats. As others have said, the extra 2-7HP you might pick up with out them is not worth it. I have Dynatech headers with highflow cats..and every once in a while if I really go WOT I get a brief "wif" of the smell but that's it, and I am really glad I went with cats because I would not be able to tolerate that smell all the time.

My blower destroyed my hi flow cats within 1,000 miles or so.

I decided to gut the cats instead of replace them. I haven't noticed any extra fuel odor.

Good to hear you are happy, my kooks 3 x 3 with hiflow ss cats are being delivered tomorrow, I am replacing my leaky FPIS headers with Kooks 1 7/8 LTs next week.

I had put on the cats with my Dynotech headers. Now I have a cat overheat problem on the dyno. My HP & TQ curve fell off a cliff as the PCM pulled timing & over riched the fuel to cool them down. The Vette before me on the dyno had the same problem. Sure you can shut off the cats but then they will clog up. The answer is ???? Anybody know?
