I cant figure out this noise. It only happens with low to no throttle, most typically moving slowly in parking lots with little throttle then lifting to no throttle. The noise is a single "knock" what appears to be coming from the drivetrain...i thought it might be the clutch, but I am not sure. It also does not matter if I am going straight or turning...its only when the drivetrain is unloaded.
When i drive the car normally/hard there is no noise, or cruising on the higway. There is no clutch slipage, no gear grinding, no hard shifting..THoughts or ideas?
I have the exact same noise. I think Blown'NC may be right since the noise disappeared when I installed a new exhaust, and then returned, when I had to have an exhaust adjustment made for other reasons.
I was able to link it back to behind the drivers door (did the old drive with the door open in the parking lot routine)....something sounds loose around the drives side rear wheel right when the wheel starts to turn. That is the same wheel I screwed up my parking brake a few weeks back, maybe its realated. other thoughts?
Whether or not you did, try tightening the bolts that hold the rear sway bar on. If they're not tightened to the proper specs, the sway bar will CLUNK every time it gets loaded.
