Has anybody ever converted an F-body throttle cable operated throttle body to work on a C-5 fly by wire system? I only ask this because there is a really slick throttle body produced by Nitrous Oxide and its a 85mm TB with knifed edge blade and mounted on ball bearings. I think this would be better for modded 346 cu. in. motors instead of the 90mm.
We've tested a NW 1st gen, a TPIS, and a GM 90MM. at 503RWHP we only saw 1.5 HP peak HP loss between them...
Well, my thoughts were that maybe a 90mm tb might be a bit too much for a small cube motor. I remember quite a few people having issues with programming and getting their engines to run right with the 90mm.
So I was thinking that maybe a 85 would be better for moderately modded 346s.
Early issues more related to the designs of the new (at the time) TB's and the ammount of angle on the blade allowing too much air in. The newer TB's which more closely mimic the GM style TB seem to have fixed those issues.
