memory seat
My MB was doing as yours. I took it to MB at 4:55 on a Friday afternoon while out of town. The service rep left the ignition on and them moved the seat fully forward to the stop, then full rear stopping for about 20 seconds at each position. This was done three times. Then I got in and pressed the memory position and the seat went to the correct position and problem solved. The reason as explained was the seat (read here the car wash played with the seats) lost the end point reference. When this happens the seat doesn't know where it is in the travel so moving forward was actually normal except the seat didn't know where the reference point was in the start of the move.
Now does the vet work the same way? Don't really know. The problem I had with my C5 seat was the contacts on the voltage dividing resistor on the seat motor was either dirty or loose. I removed the seat, unplugged all the connectors and cleaned & tightened all the connectors. After this was done the C5 seat memory has work with out problems for the last year.
So I would try the procedure that worked for the MB ,, if that doesn't work the next might be to do as I did.
There are also safety considerations here... The seat in the C5 is designed NOT to move with the car moving unless you manually move the switch. So there is the possiblity of computer failure on your seat also. Good luck and perhaps someone else can add some better info. 99 Nassau Blue
I finally solved it myself by removing the seat and doing what I covered in previous post. 99 Nassau Blue
