Default rear end codes

I just bought a 2000 MN6. I have the window sticker but it does not mention the rear end (my old 98 A4 had the performance axle and it was on the window sticker). Can someone tell me the rear end codes and what numeric they equal. Then I can check the sticker in the glove box to see what I have.

Also, I need new tires, thinking of the Kumho non run flats in the Zo6 sizes (275 in front and 295 in back) on my stock 2000 17 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5 wheels. Has any one done this. How did it look and were they quieter than the factory tires?

thanks

All 6 speeds have a 3.42 axle, unless someone changed it. There is a metal tag on the diff with the ratio. I ran Z06 tires on my 98 stock size wheels for 6 months until I found some used Z06 wheels. They bulge on the sidewall a little, but I had no problems. Scott
