This is how a higher stall torque converter helps performance. It is probably the best one performance mod for an automatic. However, be ready for a little looseness in the throttle. You will have the apply a little more of your our foot's effort on the gas peddle to get the car moving because the TC slips the engine into higher rpms. By doing this you are launching off the line at close to the peak of the torque curve. The vette's stock TC has a stall speed of 1650 of thereabouts. You will see great gains and not too much of a change in driveability by going to a Yank SS3200 or 3600.
so you really dont notice a 3200 or 3600 much in everyday driving? I have a 99 vert A4 that ran 13.13 @ 106 with only a k&n in 55 degree weather with a 2.00 60 foot.does this sound about right? Im getting a converter in and they clain 4 tenths drop. Seems like an awful lot to gain.Anyone care to share theyre experience with this? And by the way Hi! Im new here.

when i first got my stall and gears upgraded the runflats where a joke. it really felt like my car was a supercar because i could light up the tires at will and even at speeds of under 25-30 mph
