From the very start, everyone's talking about gears... but No one seems to be selling 3.42 anywhere, even on parts I checked. I wont take anything bigger than a 3.42, its my daily driven car and also wanna keep a decent gas milage. (So, NO 3.73..+). Anyone selling a 3.42 ? Also need a decent TC. Any recommendations. Gosh ! I only have $1500 to spend righ now. $500 for gears (used), $500 TC, $500 installation, $500 Dyno tune for A4. Thats over my budget...

NOW WHAT ..?

I went with gears as my first real mod. Beware.....once you start down this path, it's hard to stop.

Take my advise. I had the same issue. Start with the gears first. Go with 3.42 z06 gears. However,this will cost about $2,000 for new gears and install and programer. Then, do whatever you want, but start with gears....
