i installed the headers many many months ago and everything ws fine. for the last few weeks i have been throwing a few o2 codes. i talked to mike norris and replaced the o2's with hopes the problems would be solved... but nope!!
codes are:
P0153 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1-A
P0161 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 2-B
P1133 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Insufficient Switching Bank 1 Sensor 1-8
i figured if it was just bad o2's then new ones would solve the problems. anybody have any ideas as to whats going on??? its driving me nuts. i throw a code every 30 minutes driving. and sometimes they go away by themselves!!
any help would be greatly appreciated. i will most likely head up to mikes tom. to see if he can take a look.
FWIW
I had my 03 through codes ( not the same as your codes) about every week for about 4 months after the headers, cats etc were installed. I noticed that I seemed to get the codes more often just after fueling the tank up. Now I might get a code every two months or so. I believe it is the coating inside the headers and cats that are screwing with the sensor.
Had similar problem - dealer replaced 02 sensors twice and didn't want to do it again under warranty. Had the car [02] tuned with the rear sensors tuned out and the air/fuel mixture set at 13:1. So far [2000 miles] no more codes.

Brian, you really just need to turn those codes off. Those are "very" common header codes. The reason you get the insufficient switching and slow response is the Front O2 Sensor is in a different position (farther downstream) than the factory location. They are random and will pop up at will. This causes these BS codes. I fought them for months in my 01 SS. I had them turned off and had ZERO problems after that..
The one code P0161 for sensor 2 is a rear O2 sensor code.
For the record, those codes are turned off in my car now for both banks. Those were the first ones I shuf off. ZERO Problems. If your car was a 00 I could help ya out.
Guess it's time for that Norris tune...hehehe
