Remove Key Wait 10 Sec ?????

Remove Key Wait 10 Sec ?????

I have been getting this message for the last couple of days, can anyone tell me what it means? "Remove Key Wait 10 Sec" it is a 1997.

Check the column lock post at the top of the page.

Could be the resistor on the ignition key, or could be the start of a column lock problem.

I got that a few weeks ago, havnt got it since, but I have had my column lock fixed a few years ago... At the same time I got a service traction sys message too!

GM had the recall taken off my 98 and then reset everything. All I have is what they did to the parts in the column. They said they would call me when they find a permanant fix. Lots of problems with 97 & 98 automatics. I talked to a Customer service rep twice. Mine had all kinds of codes and the 10 second thing after they worked on it. Seems OK now?
