Yesterday im getting ready to leave my parents house, and i get in the car and put the key in and bam, no start an no noise. So i pop the hood and make sure the cables to the battery are ok, and they are. Then a few mins later i try to start it again and nothing powers up at all. Then i try to use my keyless entry to lock the car and still nothing. This is were things get wierd. I then start hearing a clicking noice coming from the passanger side floor board, i remove a panel that cover a fuse box and what looks like a PCM (i thought the PCM was under the battery). And it seems that the clicking sound is coming from this area. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone had a problem like this?
My first thought is that the battery is dead since
1. The car is an 02 and still has the AC DELCO battery
2. When i turn the key there is no noise at all.
Your battery is gone. The clicking sound is the PCM going crazy when the voltage is low.
The stock AC Delco does not last a long time on average. Usually die after around 3 years. Replaced a lot of them in that age range when I worked Sears
I am having this same issue with my car. I have only had it for about a month and haven't had any issues. Today i drove to subway for lunch, came out, and the car was completly dead. I also hear the clicking noise in the front of the car. I tried to jump it but there still wasn't any power. If the issue was the battery shouldn't it have started when i tried to jump it? Thanks for any help.
But another common problem has been the AC drain tube dripping condensation onto the BCM. People have reported the anti-theft relay getting soaked causing similar problems.
Is there any water on the passenger floorboard, or under the carpet, or under the false floor?
The box under there is the BCM. The PCM is under the battery.

I did test the battery with a volt meter and it read 12.55 volts, but that was under no load. Would it still read 12.55 volts if the battery was shorted?
