Default MTI X1 cam suitable for D1SC?

Hey guys,

Is the MTI X1 cam suitable for a D1SC build?
Here is it specs, X1 230 227 .591 .571 112
I heard this cam with an SLP loudmouth and it just sounds wicked but i wasn't sure it were too lumpy for a SC. If it isn't suitable, what can i get that would be close to its sound while still being suitable for the D1SC?

Thanks guys

I think that cam is COMPLETELY wrong for a D1SC or ANY S/C for that matter..

IMHO;

Lobe seaperation angle needs to be at least 114 or bigger. Anywhere from 114-117LSA. I think I am going to run a 224/224 .570lift on a 115LSA. but just because I got a good deal on it. If I were buying a cam it would be 224/230 .570 lift and 115LSA

The cam I went with was a 224/228 .581 .589 114lsa. You could also go a 220/224. I wouldnt go anything less than a 114lsa cause you'll start bleeding off boost.

You want a cam with more ext. duration than intake duration and at least 114 LSA.

Thanks for that guys. What spec would be best to get the car as close to a 'lumpy' or 'muscle' V8 sound without bleeding off boost? and does anyone sell it or will it have to be custom made?

I'm interested in this answer as well. I asked this a while ago but didn't getting too many specifics on this forum but did get this on LS1Tech:

"It's the lobe separation angle that makes a car lope. So, if you want a blower cam to lope, bring in the intake and exhaust duration and get a more aggressive lobe ground into the cam. (like an XE-R) An XE-R lobe at 220 will get about as much air into the cylinder as a 226 XE lobe. So, buy the shortest-duration XE-R cam you can find, and go for the narrowest lobe separation angle that still has zero (or 1-2°) of overlap.

That'll give you the power out of the blower and give you the tell-all idle you are looking for."

"236 / 240 601 / 608 114 +4 Comp Cams XER

D1SC Procharger

Sweet Idle."

I think the MTI G1 on a 115 LSA is a good blower cam (regular G1 is on a 113 LSA). I have been using it with my P1SC on 346 CuI and will transplant it into my LS2 402 with F1R when it is ready.

Specs are 228 232 .588 .575 115

I think the intake lobe is XE and the Exhaust is XE-R

The others are right though, the X1 is bad for boost.
