Please comment on dyno results....
99 A4 w/borla and K&N CAI....dyno on a DynoJet was 300RWHP and 305TQ....
...then added 3.90s and S3200 Yank TC and LTHs....
....same dynoJet results were 317RWHP and 341TQ.
We thought the headers would add about 25-30 rwhp, but was also told the gears & TC could have effected dyno #s.
Experts....your thoughts???????

Did you tune it after you did your mods to take advantage of what you have done? If not you will need to give it a tune up to see any real results.

I'm no expert but that seems right. The gears should cost you around 10hp and I don't know if the torque converter will cause you to lose any.
So 317 + the 10 lost from gears puts you around 327, a good gain.
Did have the 3.15 gears or 2..73s? Either way with the extra power, TQ converter and those gears I bet it's a BIG difference!

I'm under the impression that the 390's will dyno a lower number than the stock gears, although I don't know why?

Yes, it was tuned....they are Grizzly headers. (had the 3.15s originally)
The car feels real fast!!!! I just want to be sure the dyno #s seem about right for the mods (and cost) I invested!

This is typical. There are several posts on this topic. When you run a lower gear most say that they see around 10-15 HP loss. This is all due to the way a dyno calculates HP. I'm sure the ole SOP tells you different.

I have an A4, 03', with a Vortec and corsa, I had 306 HP and 309 Torque. No tune. Also had at the time 2.73 gears. I now have 3.42 (just got them in today) and the car seems much faster off the line, however I have to drive it easy for about 500 miles. On Monday it goes in for a dyno tune and adjustments. Hope this helps alitlle.

Your numbers are fine for your mods.

Dont get overly concerned with dyno numbers although yours seem to be right on the money for your mods. The larger the converter the more power it robs,
