These mid 110 temps here in the AZ desert might be doing a number on my cats. The DIC keeps throwing DTC P0160 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit Insufficient Activity Bank 2 Sensor 2. When this happens, on hard accelerations, I'm getting back pressure issues (the putt putt putts) out of the exhausts. I don't feel the hesitation coming from the engine. I know what it feels like to have a bad plug or plug wire, and thats not the hesitation I'm receiving. The jerking is clearly coming from the mid-section to back of the car. Are my O2 sensors shot, and/or am I going to have to replace my Random Tech high-flow cats?
Look for a frayed or shorted to ground wire from your O2 sensors. The bank 2 sensor code, typically won't do anything but throw the diagnostic code. The bucking probably is more from the heat and whatever gas you have in the tank.
I never had any issues with O2 sensors while running my TPIS headers. Here is a full description of the P0160 error code for year with some diagnostic steps. Hopefully, you have a scanner and can see where your O2 voltage is. Low voltage (below 450 mV) would indicate a lean condition vice versa to indicate rich. Do you know if your fuel trims are indicating rich?
You may also want to check for exhaust leaks. I had a code like that and a leak was letting out enough exhaust gas to throw the code. The O2 sensor did not "see" enough exhaust. Reseated my pipes and all was well.
