Default New headlight problem

Ok, I fixed the dreaded plastic gear problem, now I have a major issue with the damn headlight chewing through those 2 plastic stops that are used to stop the headlight bracket arm movement. What happens is it hits them eventually cuts a deep enough hole in them and I have to either buy new ones to replace it or my headlight does the close thing then pops right back up. By the way I got the kit that the dealer suggests to 'align' the motor properly but that was a total waste and did not work well at all, actually worse. Any ideas?

I am not sure what a dealer motor alignment kit is ,but i had a bad gear on my 99 FRC and replaced it with a Rodney Dickman brass gear yesterday ....to adjust the motor, you just turn the manual raise/lower ****...mine now work perfectly

the kit i got from the dealer was a supposed fix for my issue. i cant believe nobody else has this problem!! for some reason the arm that stops on the plastic stopper as soon as the lights are closed keeps gouging into the plastic piece until eventually it goes enough so that it goes to far and the headlight thinks it has to come back up... oh well research begins...
