Default vibration problem!

I just installed a new tranny, and vig. converter. drove for a week, then went to the track a week ago. made 3 passes total. second pass when I was slowing for the return lane, I heard a noise like a swishing noise from under the car by the shifter I think? Now when I drive normal there is a slight vibration above 55 to about 75. but when accelerating 2/3 throttle, It vibrates the seat, floor pretty good. If I hit it full throttle, is goes away?
I checked the converter bolts again, balancer bolt, changed d.r. to street tires. So far, 3 poeple have told me to take torque tube apart and check the couplers and center support. any other input the same, or other things to check.
thanks Nuzz

Couplers would be my first thought. The new converter puts a lot of load on the drive shaft since it lets the motor smack the trans with lots more power. Jeff

Sounds like a drive train type noise. I take it the noise is gone now but were left with a vibration issue. I am going to agree with everyone else so far with the couplers as a possible cause. I would also check the CV shafts make sure there is isn't a concern with them something easy to do but I doubt thats the issue. Let us know what you find..

I had the same vibration after my Yank install. It would start at 3500 and stop at 3900 rpm's. As you said it would shake the seat it was so strong.

Dave at Yank said it was more than likely a problem with the torque tube bushings. It seems that some how they can get them misaligned during the converter install.

Mine is going back to MTI in couple of weeks to have it fixed. Who did your install?
